Origins of Maison Amodio

For years, Geert and Henri, both natural hosts, dreamed of opening their own B&B, with quality furnishings and decorated in their own style. When they discovered this magnificent house on the Molenmeers in Bruges, they immediately knew they had to seize this opportunity and make their dreams come true. And the origin of the name…? Amodio is the Basque word for ‘love’.

Geert was born and bred in the city of Bruges, and met Henri – originally from the Basque – in Paris. There was an instant spark between the two men in France’s city of love. After several years in the French capital, the two of them have traded Ville Lumière and their busy international jobs for romantic Bruges and their real passion: enabling people to enjoy the good life, amongst the beauty, style and elegance of Bruges and … Amodio!
